Water Restrictions in NSW and ACT.
To limit the amount of water used around Australia, water restrictions have been put in place.
Some of the NSW restrictions include:
* Most vehicles can be washed with trigger nozzle hoses, as well as windows.
* Plants can be watered between certain hours on all days.
* No watering systems or sprinklers are to be used at any given time.
Failing to abide by these NSW water restriction rules could result in $220 fine. Water thief can include a fine up to $2,200. This level 3 mandatory water restrictions will remain in place under the NSW Government until further notice.
Some of the ACT restrictions include:
* No watering of lawns
* Hand held hoses with trigger nozzle to water plants between certain hours on alternate days
* Drippers may be used to water plants between allocated hours, drippers on lawn are not permitted.
* No washing of any vehicle except commercial car.
* Fountains must not be filled up or turned on.
The different restrictions that apply with the states occur due to the varying amount of water that is entering each state. At the present moment, they are both under way in stage three water restriction which prevents excess water usage in many areas.
